6:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Event Details

Each year the Michigan Humanities Council selects "The Great Michigan Read"--an outstanding book that features our state. The 2011-2012 selection is "Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights and Murder in the Jazz Age," by Detroit native Kevin Boyle. It’s the electrifying account of a murder trial that resulted when an African American physician purchased a home in a white Detroit neighborhood in 1925. "Arc of Justice" won the 2004 National Book Award for nonfiction and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. CADL is pleased to have been selected to host Boyle’s visit to our area. It will be held at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, 300 S. Capitol Ave., Lansing. Books will be available for sale and signing. Read more about Boyle and this reading initiative at the link below.
