An Evening with Terry McMillan

Champaign Public Library, Main Library Event Type: Adults
Date: 5/4/2017
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:30 PM
We welcome #1 New York Times bestselling author Terry McMillan to talk about writing and life, at a special after-hours event. McMillan was born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan, and discovered her love of literature while shelving books at the local library. She burst onto the literary scene in 1987 with her New York Times bestseller Mama. Her signature humor, wisdom, and warmth made Waiting to Exhale, A Day Late and A Dollar Short, The Interruption of Everything, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Getting to Happy, Disappearing Acts, and Who Asked You? all New York Times bestsellers. Waiting to Exhale and How Stella Got Her Groove Back were made into award-winning movies, and Disappearing Acts and A Day Late and A Dollar Short were adapted into made-for-TV movies. McMillan’s books have sold millions of copies worldwide. A signing will follow the talk, and copies of I Almost Forgot About You will be available for purchase. Part of the Great Authors at the Library series.

**Reservations required. Sign up starts April 20 at 10 am.**

Part of the "Great Authors at the Library" series. Hosted by the Douglass Branch’s Table Talk Book Club. Made possible with support from the Library Friends.
