He authored several collections of poetry and received numerous awards and honors, including two Guggenheim Fellowships, a National Endowments for the Arts Fellowship and an appointment as Alaska’s Poet Laureate. He died in Fairbanks in 2011, but his legacy still reverberates throughout Alaska. In this Second Sunday presentation, OSU-Cascades associate professor Neil Browne explores Haines’s life and work. An open mic follows.
