Paul Merchant served as William Stafford's archivist for decades--when Stafford was alive and after he passed away. Merchant joins us as part of the library's "Know Stafford" month of celebrations. Merchant will explore one of Stafford's most pertinent poems, "What's in My Journal," and study it both as a fine poem in its own right and as an essential guide to the nature of the William Stafford Archives, which are housed at Lewis & Clark. He'll also talk about the long task, set out 15 years ago, of preparing Stafford's archives for the public.
