Library: Downtown Bend Public LibraryWashington Post critic Ron Charles calls Johnson's new satirical novel "the most oh-my-god unsettling book of the year." A national bestseller and recently nominated for the National Book Award, "Welcome to Braggsville," is an "odyssey through Waffle Houses, evangelical churches and backyard barbecue’s." Following Johnson's reading OSU-Cascades MFA Students will share works in progress. Established in 2013, the OSU-Cascades MFA incorporates instruction in the craft and profession of creative writing. Students each embark on a long-distance and individualized course of study with a faculty mentor and twice a year join fellow students for intensive 10-day residences of craft workshops, literature lectures and professional seminars.
