Event Type: Adult Program Age Group(s): Adult Date: 11/30/2015 Start Time: 4:00 PM End Time: 6:00 PM Description: Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with a poetry writing workshop that invites you into the spirit of play and the joy of exploring your own imagination. Using story, the visual arts and the grace of quiet time to write, give yourself this gift of exercising your own creativity in a trustworthy, safe, nonjudgmental environment. All are welcome, but space is limited and registration is required. Participants in this workshop are invited to read their work at the library's "Second Sunday" event in December. Casbon will be the featured poet; workshop participants are encouraged to share a piece of their writing after Casbon's presentation on December 13.
Library: East Bend Public LibraryLeading the workshop is Caryl Ann Casbon, a published author and poet. Caryl received her B.A. in English from Whitworth University, and an M.A. in Applied Behavioral Science from The Leadership Institute of Spokane. For 13 years Caryl taught in and lead programs for the Graduate Studies Department at Lewis & Clark College in Portland through the CORE, education, and Courage to Teach programs.
