Hear from local volunteers about the common myths and misconceptions about search and rescue. During the presentation you'll learn who they are, what they do, how to keep yourself safe, how to join SAR and hear about some of their most harrowing rescues.

The Deschutes County Search and Rescue organization operates under the direction of the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and is comprised of approximately 120 volunteers who donate their time and energy to participate in missions to rescue those lost or injured in the wilderness. Our volunteers participate in teams with expertise in mountain rescue, swiftwater rescue, backcountry skiing, snowmobile, ATV, tracking, K9 searches and emergency medical treatment.
