Library: Downtown Bend Public LibraryTim Whitsel's recently published "Wish Meal" charts one man's evolution from El Dorado pilgrim and prodigal son to a stay-at-home-father, moving from his Indiana boyhood to the family he makes in the Pacific Northwest. In Whitsel's poems, we encounter places, rites, decades and nights of perishable abundance. He nurtures apple trees, secrets, prize tomatoes, fascinations and bewildering kids. Tim Whitsel lives outside Springfield, Oregon. He is passionate about western rivers, jazz, wine and words. For six years, he directed Windfall, a monthly reading series at the Eugene Public Library. A chapbook, “We Say Ourselves” came out in 2012. He has been honored with two artist residencies at Playa. He can be heard reading his poems on thepoetryloft.net. His book "Wish Meal" was published by Airlie Press in October 2016. The four conceptual poems in A. Molotkov's recently published "The Catalog of Broken Things" question identity in the face of disaster and change, emptiness and encounter. Born in Russia, Molotkov moved to the US in 1990 and switched to writing in English in 1993. Published by Kenyon Review, Iowa Review, Cincinnati Review, Tampa Review, Raleigh Review, Cider Press Review, Pif, 2 River and elsewhere, Molotkov is the winner of several short fiction and poetry contests and a 2015 Oregon Literary Fellowship. *cr* Location: Brooks Room Contact: Liz Goodrich Contact Number: 541-312-1032 Presenter: Tim Whitsel and A.
