Event Type: Adult Program Age Group(s): Adult Date: 5/18/2017 Start Time: 6:00 PM End Time: 7:00 PM Description: The Vikings are known for a few things: their ships, their interesting mythology, and their propensity to sack monasteries. What most people do not realize is that the Vikings were most successful at colonization. Few countries in Europe escaped this trend, and so the most enduring legacy of the Vikings is how far and wide they spread their seed.
Library: East Bend Public LibraryTake a closer look at those countries whose heritages were shaped by the Vikings with author C.J. Adrien, a French-American author with a passion for Viking history. His "Kindred of the Sea" series was inspired by research conducted in preparation for a doctoral program in early medieval history as well as his admiration for historical fiction writers such as Bernard Cornwell and Ken Follett. *cr* Location: Meeting Room Contact: Liz Goodrich Contact Number: 541-312-1032 Presenter: C.J.
