Local outdoors enthusiast, David Markey, presents a photo journey along the 212 mile John Muir Trail through the central Sierras and a discussion of what he encountered along the way. He will also set up the gear that he used to give people a look at the roots of what is needed to make the journey enjoyable.
Since moving to Oregon in 1994 he has enjoyed traveling and exploring the natural wonder that Oregon has to offer. Over the course of his life, he has vacationed almost exclusively in National Parks and other public lands. One of his favorite trips has been hiking the John Muir Trail from Mt. Whitney to Yosemite Valley; which he did to celebrate both his 50th and 60th birthdays.
