 Local authors coalesce to share their words and voices.

Hear local authors read excerpts from published works available for sale. Meet and ask questions of Bend and Central Oregon authors such as Kathleen Valenti, Jeremiah Franklin, Kristin Berger, Scot Siegel, Jack Lorts, Janice Rubin, Marcia K. Morgan, and Kim and Libby Cooper Findling (mother and daughter team).

Each author will have a table with books to sign and sell. Community members and public are welcome to approach, ask questions, and then hear each author read from their works. After, Q&A session with the full panel of authors, and book sales and signing.

Kristin Berger is a poet and essayist, but mostly she likes to wander and poke around with words. Kristin is the author of two poetry collections, Echolocation and How Light Reaches Us: Poems and a poetry chapbook, For the WillingShe lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family.

Bill Dahl recently spent five weeks in the Guadalajara/Chapala region in the state of Jalisco/central Mexico examining the urgent public health and environmental issues that inhabit the area. It was a 30 month project culminating in January 2019 with the publication of his new book: Lake Chapala – Beneath the Surface – Considerations for Retiring in Mexico.

Kim Cooper Findling is an award-winning author, essayist, journalist and editor based in beautiful Bend, Oregon. She is a fifth generation Oregonian who spent her childhood on the Oregon coast. Libby Findling is a sixth-generation Oregonian and a student in Bend, Oregon. She is an accomplished actor, musician, comedienne, writer and storyteller. She loves rivers, rain, wandering the forests of Oregon and jamming out to blasting music. In the future, she hopes to create songs, films, and more books.

Jeremiah Franklin is a former private investigator, arm-chair survivalist, and author of the Dark Tomorrow trilogy. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Education, and several other certifications that no one really cares about. He lives, writes, and plays in beautiful central Oregon, USA.

Jack Lorts, an ex-patriot from Suburbia, fled southern California some fifty years ago to settle in rural Oregon. He has published four chapbooks, the latest of which, “The Love Songs of Ephram Pratt" comes out from Uttered Chaos Press in Eugene, Oregon.

Marcia K. Morgan is a bestselling author who brings a wealth of experience helping women and girls reach their full potential. As the Executive Director of Migima, LLC, since 1980, she oversees an innovative firm that provides international consulting services in criminal justice and social issues. Marcia, her husband, and yellow lab live in Bend, Oregon.

Janice Rubin is a counselor and educator. Her poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, and she is a Pushcart Prize Nominee. She's the author of Transcending Damnation Creek Trail & Other Poems (Flutter Press, 2010) and Tin Coyote (Blue Light Press, 2017).

Scot Siegel is the award-winning author of three full-length poetry collections and three poetry chapbooks. He has received numerous artist residencies, including with Playa at Summer Lake and Oregon State University's Spring Creek Project. Scot was born in Oakland, California, and has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1987. He has two grown daughters.

Kathleen Valenti has been writing for more than 20 years, first as a nationally award-winning copywriter and now as a mystery novelist. A firm believer that deadpan can be dead-on, Kathleen combines funny with frightening to craft page-turners of mystery and suspense.
