DPL joins RAPRD for Aviation Day!

This free community event will include exciting demonstrations and activities for all ages. Volunteers from the aviation program at COCC will be on hand to show off their drones, and to teach basic operation and safety. Redmond’s own Field of Dreams RC club will display their radio controlled aircraft and show off some of their moves in live demos. Redmond’s Aircraft Fire and Rescue team will show off their big green aircraft rescue fire truck for kids to climb on and ask questions. We will have live drone demonstrations, flight simulators for kids to try, and the Young Eagles will talk about their program offering free flights for local kids. There will be aviation-related arts and crafts, including building and painting models, and tons of prizes.

The event will also feature educational and career-oriented booths manned by local non-profit organizations and aviation businesses.
Run by passionate locals, these educational and industry booths will encourage kids’ curiosity about aviation and STEM careers and recreational activities in Central Oregon.
