Library: Downtown Bend Public LibraryJoin Deschutes Public Library’s first learning circle and discover your family’s history. Genealogy is one of the most difficult types of research you can undertake, but it is also the most fascinating because it's all about you! If you're considering researching your own family tree, but don't know where to begin, join this fun and casual learning circle to get started. Learning circles are free, peer-led study groups for learners who want to take online courses together in a public space. This circle will follow the Genealogy Basics class offered through Gale Courses, an online learning platform accessed with your library card. Two lectures are posted each week with suggested assignments. Learning circle participants will meet once a week to discuss the lectures and share insights and feedback on the assignments. The Learning Circle will meet on Tuesdays, Sept. 10 through Oct. 22, from 12-1pm in the Meyer Classroom. Participants will need a DPL library card to register.
