Art and music by Paul Alan Bennett featuring the night sky.

Paul's style started with a pair of woolen gloves that he had purchased at the Great Bazaar in Istanbul. Fascinated with their folk patterns and colors, Paul was intrigued and wondered if he could create the knit look using watercolor. Using gouache paint gave him the control he needed to make the threads look real. He liked the look and quickly realized that all cultures have some form of knitting and weaving and that using the technique he could tap into his interest in travel and history. His style brings together his interest in the world of painting and the world of fabric design. Learn more about Paul's are at www.paulalanbennett.com. He recently published "Night Skies," featuring 44 of his paintings about the night sky.

Paul earned an M.A. from The University of LaVerne, Athens, Greece and a B.F.A. from The Maryland Institute of Art. He has had numerous one-man shows, developed a series of tapestries for Pendleton Woolen Mills, and created numerous paintings for posters, cards and book illustrations.
