Library: Downtown Bend Public LibraryDiscuss ideas for combating institutional racism. After July's conversation on understanding systemic racism and white privilege, one may wonder, "Where do I go from here? What actions can I take as an individual to combat systems of racial privilege and oppression?" Join community members and guest speaker Dalton Miller-Jones as we ponder these questions, gain a broader understanding of institutional racism, and brainstorm anti-racist action steps. Every quarter we offer a Community Conversation event for community members of all backgrounds to share stories and discuss issues that matter. There's an open feeling of trust and a bubbling up of ideas that break down the silos that are dividing our communities across the country. The goal of Community Conversations is to expand our sense of neighborhood - across all economic, political, cultural, and racial boundaries. We believe in the power of connections and friendships to bridge any divides. All of our conversations stem from a strong commitment to curiosity, compassion, and community. *cr* *zm* Registration Ends: 9/18/2020 at 12:00 PM Contact: Liz Goodrich Contact Number: 541-312-1032 Presenter: Community Conversations Status: Waiting List |
