Library: Downtown Bend Public LibraryHow and where can we find common ground? Pastor Eric Burtness, of Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond, will lead off our conversation. We are going through a difficult and divisive time. Politics, pandemic, job insecurity, inter-racial awakening, strained family relationships, difficult conversations - these are things that we struggle with right now, and sometimes we seem to get more divided the more we talk. Pastor Eric Burtness, of Zion Lutheran Church in Redmond, will lead off our conversation by describing realities and practices that will help us find common ground in our conversations. We offer Community Conversation events for community members of all backgrounds to share stories and discuss issues that matter. There's an open feeling of trust and a bubbling up of ideas that break down the silos that are dividing communities across the country. The goal of Community Conversations is to expand our sense of neighborhood - across all economic, political, cultural, and racial boundaries. We believe in the power of connections and friendships to bridge any divides. All of our conversations stem from a strong commitment to curiosity, compassion, and community. *cr* *zm* Registration Ends: 1/9/2021 at 2:00 PM Contact: Liz Goodrich Contact Number: 541-312-1032 Presenter: Community Conversations Status: Closed |
