With bone-deep lyrics and a magnetic, haunting voice, Portland based singer/songwriter, Corinne Sharlet, crafts a warm Americana sound. Emotive and alluring, Corinne’s music captures the imagination like the high deserts of Central Oregon where she was raised. Drawing comparisons to Joni Mitchell, Corinne writes unusual melodies and chord progressions that give her version of folk music new life. Corinne’s set features songs from her forthcoming debut album, A Lovely Future, set to be released at the end of September.

Singer/songwriter, Corinne Sharlet grew up in Bend, performing in local community theater and writing songs as she wandered around the High Desert. Corinne’s music is ethereal yet grounded in richness, capturing the sound of the landscape of Central Oregon. Corinne’s songwriting is introspective and often delves into the depths of the human psyche. Based on her lyrical themes, it comes as no surprise that Corinne also works as a psychotherapist, trained in pioneering voice work called Voice Movement Therapy. Inspired by voice teacher, Alfred Wolfsohn’s discoveries about how to use singing to help people heal from PTSD after WWI, Voice Movement therapy teaches people how to explore the depths of their own voice to heal from trauma and other mental health struggles.
