Age Group(s): Adult
Date: 10/2/2021
Start Time: 10:00 AM

Description:
Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Jane Meissner for a fall colors hike at the Metolius Preserve. Registration is required. Registered participants will receive meet-up instructions prior to the event. Registration closes Wednesday, September 29.

Per Oregon Health Authority (OHA) guidelines, all participants (regardless of vaccination status) must bring and wear a face mask during the walk or hike (as soon as you exit your vehicle). Face masks must fit tight to the face, be worn over the nose and mouth, and must be secure enough to stay on during your entire walk or hike. Per OHA guidelines, face shields are not considered a face mask. The Land Trust will have extra face masks for use as needed.

This is an easy ~3 mile hike on dirt trails. From ponderosa pine forest to lush creek-side corridors, the Metolius basin boasts a unique combination of wetter plants from the west side of the Cascades along with the drier eastern Cascade vegetation. We'll explore this fascinating transition zone while enjoying golden bracken fern and larch and searching for scarlet vine maple.
