The history of superhero comic books reflect the cultural ideals, pitfalls, and character of the United in the 20th and 21st century. COCC professor Murray Godfrey will discuss the origins and development of superhero comics in American history and how they continue to reflect American culture today.

Murray A. Godfrey is history professor at Central Oregon Community College where he has worked since 2012. He received a Master of Arts degree in History from Texas State University specializing in the history of 17th and 18th century North America. Prior to coming to Central Oregon, Murray previously taught for Austin Community College in Austin, TX and Alamo Community College District in San Antonio, TX.
