On March 17 2020 I dressed in green, loaded up my harp in my station wagon and hit the road ... and never performed the programs I had planned, because that was the day the state shut down due to what we now know as the Covid-19 Pandemic. In this program I would like to share some of my favorite Irish tunes that I didn't get to play that day: some O'Carolan airs, jigs and slip jigs, and a hornpipe. This music, performed on solo harp, can be melancholy or toe-tapping-- or sometimes both! So pull up a chair and enjoy with me.

Rebecca Smith went to grade school in Sisters, high school in Redmond, began college in Bend at COCC and completed her music degree at the University of Oregon in Eugene. She began playing the harp classically while studying there, and branched out into other genres since. Her entire career has been dedicated to music as a teacher and performer, both publicly and privately. She is on the faculty of the Cascade School of Music, teaches privately at her Sisters studio, and lives in Sisters with her husband.
