A presentation/conversation about first-person narration in short and long-form fiction. By examining flash-fiction as well as novel openings, we will focus on voice, characterization objective correlative, talking to ourselves, and why unreliability is so delicious.

Catherine Malcynsky teaches Writing and Literature courses at Oregon State University-Cascades. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College. Catherine is originally from Chester, CT.

Central Oregon Writers Guild's mission is to provide Central Oregon area writers a forum for mutual support and education through meetings, annual events and workshops.
