Instructor Yoko Godlove has lived in Bend for almost 30 years. Her love of travel and the outdoors brought her here; when she was traveling in New Zealand, she met her husband who loves fishing and he caught her instead of fish. When Yoko came to Bend, she worked at the only sushi restaurant in town, where she learned the ins and outs of sushi. She also started teaching sushi workshops in the hopes that people would be able to enjoy sushi more easily at home. Through COCC, Bend Parks and Recreation, and middle & high school culinary classes, she has taught for over 15 years. She is very happy that her country's food is so popular and is very honored to collaborate with the Library on this program.
