Is Self-Publishing for You?: A Quick Guide for Navigating Today's Book Publishing Maze
Author
Libi Astaire
Review
This is a good book about the advantages and disadvantages of different routes to self-publishing. I appreciated the information about the editorial process, printing, and marketing. The different budgets were helpful. A focus was placed on Amazon services, and I would have like more information of other services to see what was out there. The book was well-organized and flowed well.

This book had great voice, and the theme is good.

Belaboring of the character's points was too much and it slowed the pace at too many points in the book. I felt that her dialogue were repeated in different ways without moving forward. Some of the sentence structure was awkward, and I was distracted by the lack of needed punctuation and correct formatting.

This book has potential because the theme is good, people can relate to the character regarding self-image, and the ending was cute. With some polish, and more character development and setting, I believe the book can be incredible.

Dean Koontz can turn a phrase or twist a plotline with the best of them.

This story could be the plot for "The Sixth Sense 2: The 'Freak' kid as a Young Adult."

The Fault In Our Stars

Heartwrenching.

I'm not even sure I can review this book. There was more than one occasion during my reading of this book that I almost chose not to finish it. I felt physical pain throughout. Having a young son, my heart broke especially during the characters' interactions with their parents. Green does a wonderful job of crafting a book that you have to make a conscious choice to read - you want to and don't want to at the same time. Your choice is complicated by all human emotions: guilt, sorrow, laughter, love. I would recommend this book to a well-prepared reader. The content is difficult and minimally rewarding. A testament to Green's view of life, I suppose.

Review
This book is a collection of short stories that expressed life lessons and observations. My favorite stories were "The Dermoid Cyst" and "The Package". The endings for some stories were thought-provoking. For some stories, I had difficulty determining the point and felt those stories needed development. Overall, some of the stories were engaging and some were not, but the collection had a nice variety of stories.
