Ciné-Monde: Global cinema at the Peninsula Center Library Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe and documentaries. About DEPARTURES: Winner of the best foreign picture award at the 2009 Academy Awards, this Japanese film is a sweet-natured comedy/drama that looks into the world of being an undertaker in Japan. Delving into the tradition of Japanese culture and this unique profession, this heart-warming film has been pleasing audiences since its release. The film is rated PG-13, has a running time of 130 minutes and will be presented in Japanese with English subtitles.
