Meet and Greet 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm OCTOBER 13, 2014 – JOE COCKE – WHAT IS IT PART #9 ? Member, Joe Cocke, will present “What is it, Part #9?” Joe is a speaker and author of "Fossil Shark Teeth of the World: A Collector's Guide by Joe Cocke," From Amazon.com, "Joe Cocke has been collecting and studying fossil shark teeth from the time he was in high school. He recently retired after 33 years working at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. During that time he worked in the departments of Vertebrate Paleontology, Education and Animal Habitats." By now you know the drill. Joe brings slides for identification. Among the slides of fossils could be: fish, deer, whale vertebrae, coral, cementite, skull, fern, walrus, saber-tooth cat, human tooth, shark tooth, camel tooth, beaver, alligator, oyster, and a hippo to name a few. Prizes of shark teeth will be awarded to the winners. NOMINATION OF 2015 OFFICERS JUNIOR SHOW AND TELL Tanay Sadwhani, son of member JT, was the big winner at the July 14, 2014 Awards. He took his treasures home and immediately started doing research on his winnings. This will be very special. Rescheduled from the September 8, 2014.program.
