Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s Classic Movies at Noon, a film series featuring essential films from Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1970s. The Classics @ Noon series takes place on the first Monday of every month. Our next film screening will be NORMA RAE at noon, July 7 in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This event is free and open to the public. Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series. NORMA RAE: In the 1979 movie NORMA RAE, Sally Field changed everyone's perception of her as an actress. Known more for being the Flying Nun on TV and Burt Reynolds co-star in various '70s era comedies, Field brought home an Oscar for best actress after playing the title character in this Martin Ritt directed movie. Norma is a single mother struggling to make it month to month but risks her job and her health by challenging the authority of the management by attempting to unionize the textile mill she works at. Also nominated for a best picture, NORMA RAE will screen at noon on July 7, is rated PG and has a running time of 110 minutes.
