Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s Classic Movies at Noon, a film series featuring essential films from Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1970s. The Classics @ Noon series takes place on the first Monday of every month. Our next film screening will be THE DESK SET at noon, December 1 in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This event is free and open to the public. Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series. Desk Set stars Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn play a mix-matched pair whose strong personalities clash at a 1950s TV station. Hepburn plays the head of a research department who doesn't want anything to do with the newfangled computer that Tracy's character wants to install. While the duo have difficulties in seeing eye to eye about the computer, romantic sparks are hard to ignore. Desk Set has a running time of 103 minutes and will be shown on December 1 at Noon in the Peninsular Center library community room.
