Event Details

Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s Classic Movies at Noon, a film series featuring essential films from Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1970s. The Classics @ Noon series takes place on the first Monday of every month. Our next film screening will be THE THIN MAN at noon, January 5 in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This event is free and open to the public. Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series. One of the classiest, most sophisticated mystery-romances from the era is without a doubt the very popular THE THIN MAN. The witty and debonair couple Nick [William Powell] and Nora [Myrna Loy] and their trusty sidekick canine Asta become entangled in a dangerous murder mystery. Based on a novel by Dashiell Hammett, THE THIN MAN was nominated for four Oscars and exudes so much charm and chemistry between Powell and Loy that it would spawn five sequels, none of which would be as good and as popular as the original. THE THIN MAN will play on January 5th at Noon in the Peninsula Center library community room and has a running time of 90 minutes.
