Event Details

Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s Classic Movies at Noon, a film series featuring essential films from Hollywood from the 1930s through the 1970s. The Classics @ Noon series takes place on the first Monday of every month. Our next film screening will be GROUNDHOG DAY on February 2 [which also happens to be Groundhog Day!] in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This event is free and open to the public. Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series. February 2nd happens to be Groundhog Day, so what's more appropriate to watch for PVLD's classics series than perhaps the greatest ever movie made set around that holiday--GROUNDHOG DAY. Written and directed by the legendary Harold Ramis, GROUNDHOG DAY is perhaps Bill Murray's funniest film in his also legendary career as he plays an arrogant weatherman who is stuck with the locals in Punxsutawney, PA over and over until he can get the day right. Co-starring Andie MacDowell, Chris Elliott and Stephen Tobolowsky as Ned "Bing!" Ryerson, GROUNDHOG DAY delivers non-stop comedic one-liners ["Don't drive angry!"] and was placed on the National Registry in 2006. Come celebrate Groundhog Day at the library! GROUNDHOG DAY is rated PG, has a running time of 101 minutes and will be screened on Groundhog Day, February 2nd in the Peninsula Center library community room.
