Ciné-Monde: Global cinema at the Peninsula Center Library Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s Ciné-Monde, a film series featuring notable films from around the globe. Our next film screening will be FORCE MAJEURE at 5:30pm, Thursday, March 12 in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This event is free and open to the public. Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series. The Swedish drama/comedy FORCE MAJEURE is one of the best reviewed films of 2014. Called "piano-wire intense" and a film that "will haunt you long after you've left the theatre," FORCE MAJEURE tells the story of a pampered middle-class Swedish family who just want to spend some quality time together at an unbelievably beautiful ski resort in the French Alps. Early on in their vacation, an event takes place that challenges their entire family dynamic and everyone has to cope with the fallout. Directed by Ruben Ostlund, FORCE MAJEURE is a meticulously crafted film that is part drama and part devilish comedy and I expect we will have a great post-film discussion for this one after the credits roll. FORCE MAJEURE is rated R for language and brief sexual content, has a running time of 120 minutes and will screen on March 12th at 5:30 PM in its original Swedish with English subtitles in the Peninsula Center library community room.
