The Multiplex: American cinema at the Peninsula Center Library Rolling Hills Estates, CA –Join us for PVLD’s The Multiplex, a film series featuring notable, popular and recent American releases from Hollywood. The Multiplex screenings will occur on the fourth Thursday of every month at 3 AND 6 PM. Our next film showing will be THE 100-FOOT JOURNEY at 3 PM, Thursday, February 26 in the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This event is free and open to the public. Following the film, there may be a brief discussion facilitated by the coordinator of the series. In the comedy/drama THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY, the Kadam family leaves India after their family restaurant is destroyed. The Kadams go on a journey to different countries to find the perfect location to open a new restaurant. Fate leads them to France and directly across the street from a snooty French chef [played by Helen Mirren]. Cultures clash and a food battle ensues regarding the differences in philosophy between the two restaurants that are separated by a hundred feet. THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY stars Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon whilst being directed by Lasse Hallstrom [CHOCOLAT, MY LIFE AS A DOG, CIDER HOUSE RULES]. THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY is rated PG, has a running time of 122 minutes and will screen on February 26th at 3 and 6 PM in the Peninsula Center library community room.
