Event Details

Come enjoy classical music concerts presented by outstanding young artists as part of Palos Verdes Library District’s Classical Music Series. Introducing the musicians for this performance: Gifts From Over Sea features music that tells stories, presented by the duo of Katina Mitchell, soprano/harp, and Ines Thome, classical guitar/lute, who met as graduate students at USC’s Thornton School. Their wide-ranging interests span 19th and 20th century art songs to early music for lute and voice. Among the duo’s most popular pieces are original arrangements of folk songs. Why you shouldn’t miss this concert: United by a shared passion for music and language, Katina and Ines are originally from two different continents, and their repertoire draws on music with roots in both Europe and the United States. Gifts From Over Sea is the title of a folk song about two sisters sending and receiving gifts across the sea. This program is free and open to the public. Questions?
