Sign up for the Rockland Public Library 2015 Summer Reading Program! Just click, "Sign Me Up," to register online or come down the library to register in person starting June 1st. The program runs from June 20th until August 10th with a program finale party here at the library on August 15th!
This program is open to all
children including those who cannot yet read themselves, but who have books read to them.
The program is open for registration right now but the actual logging of books and summer reading events will not begin until June 20 with a special story time with Eva Murray, author of Island Party,
at 10:30AM. Registration materials and book bags will be available for families.
Every time a child logs 10 easy books or 150 pages of a J book, he or she can come in to receive a sticker and pick up a coupon to enter the drawing for winning one of the six bicycles and helmets that will be given away at the end of the summer. The more a child reads, the more coupons he or she will have in the jar and the greater the chance of winning the bicycle. The jar is located on the children's room desk.
There are six bicycles and helmets that will be given away and student should fill out the appropriate coupon and place it in the jar.
To finish the reading program children need to read 50 easy books or 750 pages of J books. If they complete the program they will receive a gift bag during the final party on August 15.
