Description:
1967 is a tale of two worlds, the hippies and violence, whether in wars or in the streets. It was a year of extreme contrasts, with San Francisco as the epicenter as the hippies go to the Haight while 10 or so miles east in Oakland, soldiers ship off to Vietnam. The Beatles release Sgt. Pepper, Jimi plays Monterey while there are riots in the streets in the U.S. The Middle East erupts into the Six Day War, the space program loses three astronauts, anti-war protests ramp up and a heart is successfully transplanted. Tune in, Turn on and Drop out. Join presenter Evan Weiner on this trip back to the 60’s. Space is limited.
