1968 was the most turbulent year of the Swinging 60s and America seemed to be coming apart: The Vietnam War becoming increasingly unpopular, both Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assassinated, and a riot occurred during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. There were trouble spots around the world, in Czechoslovakia, France, and Mexico. Lyndon Johnson decided to not seek re-election as president and both women’s lib and the civil rights movement were major issues. After all these stressful events, 1968 ends with man circling the moon.
