 The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease makes both legal and health planning more important than ever. This two-part program will offer information about legal, financial and health issues to consider, how to put plans in place and how to access resources near you.
Legal topics covered will include: Making legal plans, Legal documents you’ll need, How to find legal and financial assistance, Practical strategies for making a long-term care plan, Government programs that can help pay for care, Tips around beneficiary designees, life insurance, Protecting against scams and fraud. Regarding health issues, there are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. This workshop covers four areas of lifestyle habits associated with healthy aging: Cognitive activity, Exercise, Diet/nutrition and Social engagement. In each area, we will discuss what we know, drawing on current research, as well as what we can do — steps to take now to improve or maintain overall health in each area.
