Event Type: Adult Program Date: 5/19/2023 Start Time: 2:30 PM End Time: 4:00 PM Description: Somers Library Book Group meets in person and via Zoom to discuss “Fresh Water for Flowers,” on Friday, May 19, 2023, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Violette Toussaint is the caretaker at a cemetery in a small Bourgogne town. Violette's routine is disrupted one day by the arrival of a man who insists on depositing his mother's ashes on the gravesite of a complete stranger. In time the truth reveals a secret past. Translated from the French, this is a beautiful fairy tale story of poetry, generosity and warmth. This Library-sponsored book group is led by Diana Cunningham, Librarian, who selects the books to be discussed, chosen in consultation with Tara Ferretti, Head of Public Services, with feedback and suggestions from the group. New members are always welcome. Join us!
