During this interactive program, representatives of the American Battle Monuments Commission and the Smithsonian American Art Museum contextualize the history of overseas WWI and WWII memorials, monuments, and art in their collections. Explore how the design of sculpture, architecture, war memorials, and 2-D artworks convey the themes of honor, service, and sacrifice through symbolism and allegory.
