Did you add a new cat or dog to your family this holiday season? At this program you'll learn to care for and train your new pet, and then get to read your favorite book to the "Love on a Leash" dogs! Families are invited to join Executive Director of the Five Acres Animal Shelter, Kim Brown, as she guides you through being knowledgeable pet owners. Get training tips and see a demonstration from dog trainer, Lynsey Vance from Infinite Pawsibilities, and one of the fuzzy friends from the Shelter.
Then it’s time for some “doggie” crafts and for kids to read to the dogs! Bring your own book or choose one of ours and read to an adorable, attentive dog who loves you and your reading! Reading to dogs is a very positive and non-threatening way to build reading skills and confidence in reading.
