Understanding Self-Harm for Teens

Event Type: *Teens

Date: 11/8/2018

Statistics say about 1 in 5 females and 1 in 7 males engage in self-harm each year. While some think that self-harm means teens (or pre-teens) want to kill themselves, it is usually a sign that the student is experiencing emotional turmoil so overwhelming that they have turned to self-harm as a coping mechanism. Led by National Certified Counselor Andrew Frager, this interactive session will discuss what self-harm is and isnít, as well as what you can do if you or someone you know is self-harming.
