Lunch & Learn: The Brave Journey of Orphan Riders

Nearly 250,000 children were transported from New York City to homes of farming families between 1854 and 1929. Author Clark Kidder shares the story of these children and his paternal grandmother who rode an orphan train to the Midwest in 1906, as portrayed in his book, Emily's Story - The Brave Journey of an Orphan Train Rider. Bring your lunch starting at noon, we’ll provide coffee, dessert, and a great lecture.
