 Learn to identify four distinct modes of poetic writing (naming, saying, singing, imagining) and apply those poetic modes to prose with Dr. Emily Carr. Registration is free but required.

This seminar is designed to introduce writers (of any genre) to the practice of reading and writing poetry. We will pay particular attention to the craft elements foregrounded in poetry that can support work in prose. Be warned: you may fall in love with this wildly unmarketable art! In Part 1, participants will learn to identify four distinct modes of poetic writing (naming, saying, singing, imagining) and apply those poetic modes to their work.
