We are in a critical time in history in which immigration policy is at the forefront of public debate. The future of DREAMers hangs in the balance between federal court decisions, changing administrative policies, and congressional action. This discussion will break down the legal obstacles and challenges many individuals face when seeking the American Dream.

Callie Killebrew, Kendra Jimenez Baughman, and Micaela Guthrie are three attorneys based in Central Oregon specializing in immigration law and together form Bend Immigration Group. All three speak Spanish fluently and are committed to working with central Oregon’s Latino and immigrant populations, including many DACA recipients and mixed-status families. Their work focuses on family-based immigration, asylum, humanitarian requests, and removal defense.

Callie Killebrew is a native Oregonian who has practiced immigration law since 2006. She holds a law degree from the University of Oregon. Prior to practicing law, she served in the Peace Corps in Paraguay.

Kendra Jimenez Baughman holds a law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law, as well as a master’s degree in Intercultural Youth and Family Development from the University of Montana. She has also worked as a social worker and community organizer with immigrant and refugee population.

Micaela Guthrie has also dedicated her career over the last fifteen years to multiple facets of immigration law, since earning her J.D. in in 2002 from Washington University. Prior to her work in Bend, she worked as the Managing Attorney of a non-profit serving immigrants and as an Assistant Chief Counsel with the Department of Homeland Security.
