 Dr. Uri explains the the benefits and efficacy of medical cannabis.

During her presentation Dr. Uri explains the potential uses for medical cannabis and how cannabis may be helpful to patients, depending on the disease state. She will also highlight the different components of the cannabis plant and the effects (positive and negative) they may have on the patient as well as identify methods of dosing available and how they differ in efficacy.

Dr. Lisa Uri was born in Philadelphia, PA. She attended Emory University and graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Biology and Psychology. After working as a pharmaceutical representative for two years, she decided a more rewarding career would be the practice of Family Medicine. Dr. Uri completed her medical studies at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia in 1997. She completed her training with a residency in Family Medicine at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, during which time she lived in New York City. After settling with her family in Connecticut, Dr. Uri worked at an Urgent Care Center in Greenwich, CT until moving to Bend in 2006.

Dr. Uri works at High Lakes Health Care-Shevlin, with a focus on lifestyle and preventive care, saying "I truly enjoy being an integral part of my patients’ lives and communicating with then in a direct, open and honest manner. I want my patients to fully participate in their care by understanding the impact that lifestyle choices have on their health, and to be aware of all treatment options for any health issues. I feel it is important that they benefit from the knowledge of preventive health care."
In 2012, she completed her certification in Nutritional Therapy, which she feels is an important part of her patients’ health. She completed a two year fellowship program through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in 2014. Dr. Uri is Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Integrative medicine. She is also trained in medical acupuncture and utilizes it in her practice regularly. Additionally, she has extensively researched the benefits of medical cannabis and advocates for its use in certain patients, which she believes can help treat medical issues while lowering healthcare costs.

She has three daughters and enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and all the outdoor physical activities Bend has to offer.
