A virtual open mic and poetry slam to uplift voices and ideas of those that are historically unheard.

Join us at virtually for night of poetry and friendly competition. All writers and readers and word-lovers invited to attend and read.

Host Jessica Amascual will be joined by:

Guest Judges: Rita Schenkelburg, Kourtni Perez, Giuliana Davar
Guest Artist: Porshe Michelle


Schedule looks like this:
*6pm- Sign-ups via the Zoom chat feature (make sure to indicate if you'd like to read for open mic or for slam, or both) as well as welcoming remarks, introductions of host, judges, format overview and a short reading to kick off the evening from Tita Jess.

*6:15- Open Mic for those wanting to warm up or try something out on the mic. Judges welcome to read! Each person gets 5 minutes at the mic.

*6:40- Poetry Slam! Each person gets 5 mins at the mic with immediate scoring following their set by a panel of guest judges.

*7:20- Winner and prize announced and closing set by special guest!
