Enjoy the sounds of an acclaimed cellist playing a selection of unaccompanied cello music from composers in the 20th century.

Distinguished celloist, Travis Allen, will be playing a selection of unaccompanied cello music from composers in the 20th century, including works by Croatian composer and cellist Rudalf Matz, and American composer Philip Glass.

Travis Allen lives in his hometown of Bend, Oregon with his wife Kellie and his 4-year-old daughter Charlotte. Travis graduated with his Master degree in Cello from Portland State University, and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Musicology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. While in Portland, Travis performed with members of the Oregon Symphony and the Portland Opera, and currently performs in the Sunriver Music Festival, is the Principal Cellist with Central Oregon Symphony, Bend Opera, the Bend Cello Collective, and the cellist in the Dove String Quartet. His studies have been with Hamilton Cheifetz at Portland State University and Geoffrey Rutkowdski at UC Santa Barbara.

With over 20 years of teaching and performing experience, Travis has established himself as a distinguished cello instructor who has a tremendous love of and respect for students, seeking to be a teacher that guides and nurtures students to be independent, successful and caring human beings. Travis’s cello students have won scholarships, competitions, and have gone on to study at distinguished music schools. Travis is also a member of the music faculty at Central Oregon Community College, where he currently teaches Music History, as well as Music Theory and Musicianship.
