Discover the denizens of the dark - owls - that prowl our local forests. Learn about their natural history and dependency on forested and open habitats. Discover ways to identify these (mostly) nocturnal predators by sight and sound - hooting practice begins at dusk!

Damian Fagan spent several seasons hooting for spotted owls in Utah and New Mexico as a contract biologist. He is a naturalist and freelance writer living in Bend, and often frequents forested areas after dark in search of owls.
