Good dialogue can be oh-so-tricky to write - it must show how conversations move in real life while intentionally driving a story onward. Some might say that dialogue is action. Good dialogue engages, reveals character, provides pacing, and, yes, keeps the train car of your writing on your chosen track. Through some playful material and hands-on exercises, we’ll explore the construction of dialogue. We’ll also scale back to consider how, through your writing, you are having a conversation across time and space with your readers. How can this particular dialogue between imaginations impact your writing process? At its core, dialogue is a shared emotional experience.
