Description:
Learn about parenting highly sensing (sensitive) children.

This is an in-person program.

High sensitivity is all about processing things deeply. if you have a child that seems overly concerned about others or her environment, reacts strongly to things others don’t worry about, gets distracted easily by noise and busyness around her, seems really picky and perfectionistic, she might be highly sensing (a personality trait, not a disorder).

Highly Sensing children have different needs, as they have different reactions to the world that can seem too much for them. It’s important to be able to recognize sensitive responses and understand that your child may need things structured a bit differently, or at least be allowed to have responses that are different from those of other children.

In this class, you’ll learn how to identify whether your child might be highly sensing, how to support him, and how to support yourself. If you’re not highly sensing yourself, you could become frustrated by his behavior or choices or opting out of activities and feel the need to control or set parameters that don’t help. You could feel exasperated and confused...We’ll address this and look at expectations and learn tips for making parenting easier to improve your relationship. Highly sensing children have great potential with acceptance and the right support. Let’s learn how to support them.
