Virtual: Two Centuries of Frankenstein

Event Type: Adult Program
Date: 10/21/2021
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:00 PM
Description:
Virtual: Two Centuries of Frankenstein: Thursday, Oct. 21 at 7:00 pm - 8;00 pm - In 1818, 21-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley published Frankenstein: The Modern Prometheus as a result of a writing challenge initiated by poet Lord Byron. The rest, as they say, is history. The immortal horror tale of a vane doctor who builds a human being from scratch has become inseparable from filmmaking. From Boris Karloff to Robert De Niro, from James Whale to Mel Brooks, Shelley’s sensational thriller continues to enthrall, inspire, and disturb, after more than 200 years.
This is a shared program between the Harrison Library, Pound Ridge Library and Somers Library
