The rest, as they say, is history. The immortal horror tale of a vane doctor who builds a human being from scratch has become inseparable from filmmaking. From Boris Karloff to Robert De Niro, from James Whale to Mel Brooks, Shelley’s sensational thriller continues to enthrall, inspire, and disturb, after more than 200 years.
